The always tricky.. How do you start a blog?
I have decided bullet points could be the answer:
- My name is Harriet Mahase
- A recent Radio Production graduate from DMU in leicester (I say recent, I'm in denial as I left a year ago!)
- I've worked for a vintage shop for 7 years and managed the shop for 2 or those.
- I couldn't find a job that wasn't cold calling so I made my own.
- I started Day Tripper Vintage in January as an online and traveling vintage shop.
- Its going ok. Bloody hard work but I love it SO MUCH!
I’ve been working with and around vintage for 7 years. Working at fairs, festivals and running a vintage shop for 2 years in leicester. Its never been a full time job as i’ve either had other jobs (Sainsburys, HMV and Game) or been studying at university.
Once I finished university in 2011, I got a 2:1 BSC in Radio Production at DMU, I spent months applying and being knocked back for work experience, industry jobs and just jobs in general so one day I had the genius idea of “why don’t I start my own vintage shop?”.
It seemed the easy option.
Oh how naive I was only 4 months ago.
Here is my last blog DAY TRIPPER VINTAGE. I have for the past few months neglected it because I just got fed up with the lack of freedom on Tumblr so here I am and I like it already.
