JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

Jubilee Celebrations

Its been a really fun weekend filled with celebrations. These are some photos from the Jubilee party on saturday night.

Lots of barn dancing, food and duck racing made for a proper old fashioned celebration in a grain barn in the village I used to live in.

ITS THE QUEENS JUBILEE

I'm so excited I might wee, Its the Queen's Jubilee!

This weekend coming is going to be the best! I am a sucker for anything royal. I woke up at 7am to watch the royal wedding!

BUT

Not only is it the jubilee.. Its my 24th birthday too.
How nice is it that the queen has made it a 4 day weekend and organised all these celebrations. I'm flattered! Ha! I wish!

I absolutely love this Vouge chart of the queen.. She's got style!

I've got many plans this weekend. Saturday I'm off for a jubilee barn dance and hog roast then for my birthday on sunday we are having a picnic at Wickstead park.
FINGERS CROSSED IT DOESN'T RAIN!

Have a lovely weekend!

I'M HAVING A CLEAR OUT!

THIS WEEK I'M HAVING A CLEAR OUT OF STOCK!

I've been meaning to do this for a while. As I buy in bulk not everything I receive is to my liking or I've just had them for a while so I hold these items back and i've decided to now put these into some job lots on eBay for an extremely cheap starting price..

24 ITEMS = £24 + £10 POSTAGE
WORKS OUT AT £1.42 PER ITEM

So if you fancy making a little bit of money trying out selling vintage for your self then these are a good start as the price is so much less than you'd normally pay wholesale.

Worth a look!
(or even just have a little peek at my other listed items)

I LOVE FILMS WITH GREAT STYLE

I love films that have good clothes and soundtracks. They always give me a million ideas.

Films below are: Pretty in Pink, 200 Cigarettes, Control, Me Without You, Love and other disasters, My Week With Marilyn, An Education and Factory Girl... All in that order.

Aren't they just really pretty!

WHAT INSPIRES ME

I’m one of those people that can instantly get an idea and run with it without thinking ‘properly’.
You could call me a dreamer.
Whilst researching shops, business and all the other boring stuff I keep seeing/hearing things that make me think.. I MUST GET THIS VINTAGE SHOP GOING!
I can do this..
I can have that..
Oh my I NEED this..
I’m in no way motivated by money. I’m motivated by stuff.
So here are things that are inspiring me during the process of setting up this shop.
NOT working 9-5 - Sorry Dolly Parton but its not for me! I’d rather work 7 days a week all hours doing this than 9-5 doing something I hate.

“OH ME? WELL I RUN MY OWN BUSINESS” - What is inspiring me and spurring me on is being able to say “I did it, all on my own”.

I own a lot of records, mainly 7”s. Its a B side on Merry Happy. This is one of my most favorite songs ever! Its one of those you put on and inspires you to do all the silly things you’ve been dreaming about.

I LOVE MY JOB - I’d like to say this, at least once.

TO HAVE MY OWN VINTAGE SHOP - One day…

CHARITY SHOP TREASURE HUNT

I like to think that due to my job, spending hours and hours trawling through charity shops is just a necessity. I HAVE to do it even if I didn't like it.
The truth is, its my most favorite thing in the world to do. Ok well up there in my top 5 past times.

I'm quite lucky that were I live the charity shops are still run in the old fashioned way, priced up in store by the people who volunteer to work there, not shipped in all priced up so you can never find that treasure because it would be in some fancy charity shop priced way above what you could afford.

I know I do buy to sell the majority of the time but because I buy every week from charity shops (its not my main source of stock by no means) I don't feel bad because of the amount of money I end up giving to charity every month. I think I must give at least £50 a month to various charities, now who can say that?

The items pictured above are amongst my favorites I've ever found.

  1. Purple peacock print dress
  2. Green Trina Lewis Gown
  3. Tan Davide Marc Stack Heels
  4. 70s Midi Suitcase
  5. Sanders Dress Shoes
  6. Blue 70s Maxi
Nothing cost me more than £8, thats my limit. I have to stop myself otherwise I'll buy so much stuff!

LIFE ACCORDING TO MY BLACKBERRY

Just a few pictures taken off my Blackberry and edited using Molome.. I got serious Iphone envy a while ago because I really wanted Instagram but I do love my Blackberry lots and lots. I moaned about it on twitter and some really lovely person sent me towards Molome and I haven't looked back.
I love it!

I'm currently looking into opening my own shop in the property shown above. Its super exciting but super scary. It may or may not go ahead as the money needed is a serious amount.

It would be an absolute dream come true but I'm only 23 (24 next week!)so I still have time left.
